In the summer of 1974, between my junior and senior years of college, I embarked on an adventure that would shape my life's passions. Along with a beloved college professor and twenty fellow students, I joined a cross-country expedition to study the flora and fauna of America's National Parks. This well-established trip, led by experienced professors, offered me three biology credits and something far more valuable – memories that would last a lifetime.
SUNY Oneonta still offers this expedition! Join us as we document how these ecosystems have evolved over five decades by comparing Lorraine’s original curriculum notes with present-day observations.
